Throughout January, the children made their own bird feeders using lard and a variety of bird food. The children then had to go on their own bird watch at home to prepare them for the big school bird watch that the playgroup were participating in.
On the 9th February, the children wrapped up warm ready to take part in the Big School Bird Watch. Uncle Andy set up our own bird watching station, including clipboars, binoculars and camera, ensuring we didn’t miss any of the action. The children marked off what birds they had seen throughout the session, the birds spotted included:
- Robins
- Black birds
- Blue tits
- Chaffinch
- Sparrow
- Pigeon
