We would like to give a big Garden Village Playgroup welcome to Alison McLoughlin; our brand new chair person! Alison – or Allie has she is known by, has written a letter to all parents and committee members explaining about why she has taken this role on. You can find this letter below:
Dear all,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all parents and carers as the new chairperson of playgroup. My name is Alison McLoughlin and I am a parent of Finley in playgroup currently. I have worked on the committee as part of fundraising support for some time and recently when the chair position became available I have happily taken over the role. I do work full time as a nurse and mother of three but playgroup is very close to my heart as I have had three sons attend over the years and I also attended garden village playgroup as a child. Many of you many be unaware but a Garden Village Pre school Playgroup is a charity and we rely heavily on fundraising from both events and activities, your fees do go towards paying our upkeep but unfortunately it doesn’t come near the amount we need to run and maintain our high rating held by the estyn report. Hence the need to rely on charity and inventiveness! We as a committee are all mums, dads, carers, grand parents and would love to welcome members of the community too. Diversity brings good enthusiastic ideas, we understand that your time is limited and precious so we are very greatful with any you can spare for us. Please feel free to approach any member of our committee and me at anytime and please feel welcome to come and join us even if you have never been on a committee before its good fun, meet friends and help you community and children’s future. Our next committee meeting is January 11th and we will all be working hard to ensure Xmas events run before hand. I hope that I will have your continued support as chair and I will work hard to build on progress we have made. Many thanks Look forward to hearing from you
Allie McLoughlin.
We cannot wait to have Allie as part of our team, and look forward to seeing what ideas she has in the future! Good luck from all of Garden Village Playgroup!
